Since 2005, Waddell & Reed has served as the title sponsor for the Waddell & Reed Kansas City Marathon. One of the fastest-growing marathons in the United States, this autumn classic combines a full 26.2-mile marathon, half marathon, five-kilometer race, corporate marathon relay and “kids marathon.” Showcasing Kansas City’s historic neighborhoods, cultural centers and business districts, the races collectively attract approximately 10,000 runners from throughout the United States and several foreign countries. At the backbone of this event are hundreds of local volunteers, many of whom are Waddell & Reed employees, friends and family members.
