Daniel C. Schulte, Esq. is General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer of Waddell & Reed Financial, Inc.  Mr. Schulte is also General Counsel for all the Waddell & Reed and Ivy companies.  In these roles, he is responsible for all legal, regulatory, and corporate governance matters.

Mr. Schulte began his career with Waddell & Reed shortly after the Company’s initial public offering in 1998 and was responsible for all legal and regulatory matters involving the publicly-traded company.  In January 2000, Mr. Schulte was promoted to General Counsel.

For the four years prior to joining Waddell & Reed, Mr. Schulte was associated with Klenda, Mitchell, Austerman & Zuercher, L.L.C., a Wichita-based law firm, where he was engaged primarily in the representation of publicly-traded companies.  From 1991 to 1994, Mr. Schulte practiced in the corporate tax group of Ernst & Young, LLP in Kansas City, Missouri.
