During 2007, in celebration of 70 years in the business of helping people plan their financial futures, Waddell & Reed visited 70 cities in a special Big Rig. We traveled nearly 30,000 miles on 18 wheels, all to say "thank you" to our clients, communities and our family of financial advisors who have been a significant part of seven decades of growth. From coast to coast, it truly was a unique experience.

More important, it was all for a unique and special cause. We joined each community on the tour in giving something back to the men and women serving our nation. Through "Operation USO Care Package," and in conjunction with the USO, Waddell & Reed and its national team of financial advisors held local events to encourage donations of special care packages to our soldiers overseas.

The response was incredible and heart-warming. The tour generated nearly 17,000 care package donations, or nearly $450,000 in donations, greatly surpassing our original goal of 10,000 packages. Waddell & Reed was happy to donate the first 1,000, and match the next 1,000. You did the rest.
